Pilots often come under attack by commonly available high power green laser pointers and the glare associated with these attacks can cause dangerous distraction or, in some instances, temporary blindness. A report by the FAA shows the number of incidents in 2015 was 7,700 double that of 2014. The great majority of strikes come from green (532 nm) lasers.
