{"id":18279,"date":"2021-10-05T17:32:49","date_gmt":"2021-10-05T21:32:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iridian.jp\/?p=18279"},"modified":"2021-10-05T17:54:29","modified_gmt":"2021-10-05T21:54:29","slug":"machine-shop-technician","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iridian.jp\/en\/careers\/machine-shop-technician\/","title":{"rendered":"Machine Shop Technician"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Department: <\/strong>Mechanical Support<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location: <\/strong>Ottawa, Ontario<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting: <\/strong>Lead machinist<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Support the efforts in the machine shop by cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the machine shop in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily tidying of machine shop<\/li>\n<li>Organize materials and storage thereof<\/li>\n<li>Execute preventive maintenance of machines and tooling<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the fabrication of materials where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Other assigned duties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good organization and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Reliable performance and quality work with minimum supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position may require work on rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends<\/li>\n<li>Mandatory use of PPE<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to perform repetitive functions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of Supervision Received <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Task assignment and priorities are set by lead machinist.
